The Circuit

The third visit to the Las Vegas Strip circuit makes up round 22 of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship season.

The most recent addition to the F1 schedule first joined the calendar in 2023, as the 78th layout to host a Grand Prix championship race.

In doing so, it became the 12th different venue in the United States to welcome the F1 paddock for a race weekend.

One of the previous 11 was in situated in Vegas itself, but across the city at the Caesars Palace track, so-called because it was constructed within the parking lot of the hotel of the same name.

F1 visited Caesars Palace on two occasions, in 1981 and 1982. The races back then were won by Alan Jones and Michele Alboreto respectively, and both served as the season finale in those seasons.

A ‘Unique’ Experience

“F1 has grown a lot in the US in the last few years, and Las Vegas is the latest sign of that. It is a unique experience,” says Test and Reserve Driver Fred.

“Racing at night and in the cold conditions means that graining can be an issue, but it is up to the teams and drivers to manage that.

“This management can create opportunities up and down the field and provide great racing.”

Long Straights and Bright Lights

The Las Vegas Strip Circuit has 17 corners, 11 to the left and six to the right and - at 6.201km - is the second-longest on the 2025 calendar, only shorter than Spa-Francorchamps.

That includes a section over 1.9km long from the exit of Turn 12 to the braking zone at Turn 14, which is taken completely flat.

The 112-metre run from pole position to the first braking zone is the second shortest of the year. Only Baku in Azerbaijan (at 89m) has a shorter run.

Speeds around the Strip circuit in Las Vegas are some of the fastest of the year, reaching 350km/h.

With track and air temperatures only reaching the mid-teens, Las Vegas is again expected to be the coldest race of the year for teams and drivers.

In 2025, Las Vegas will be the only race to be held on a Saturday in the country the Grand Prix is taking place.

Silver Arrows on the Strip

George took his third F1 win at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix. He also started on pole and led home a Mercedes 1-2 ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The Silver Arrows led all 50 laps that night.

Lewis’ podium was his 153rd and final one with the team across 246 races.

Las Vegas 2025 will be George’s 150th F1 Grand Prix, the first coming in Australia in 2019. It will be his 91st for Mercedes.

For the first time in 2025, F1 ACADEMY will join the F1 support bill in Las Vegas.

The series will hold its seventh and final round of the season around the streets, with junior driver Doriane Pin looking to finish her campaign on a high by taking the title.

The French racer holds a nine-point lead over championship rival Maya Weug going into the final two races.

Did You Know?

The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix became the first race since the 1985 South African Grand Prix to start on a Saturday when the lights when out at 22:00 Local Time.

The wait for the next Saturday race would not be as long, with both the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix of 2024 starting on Saturday in April to avoid a clash with Ramadan on the Sunday after Jeddah.
